Calabretta 2001, Etna Rosso [revisit]

Etna Rosso on Nerello mascalese and Nerello mantellato from old canes, which are grown organically and with low yields on the northern side of Etna volcano in 700 + meters.
Ripe ruby \u200b\u200bcolor with dark core and orange edge. Absolutely amazing and intense nose opens up with air - ripe and complex with warm red fruit, Spice cake, soft soap, dry leather and the very characteristic perfumed, floral elements which is reflected in lavender and heather. Integrated licorice and a strong, dark charcoal-like minerality acts as fragrance nasal bridge.
The taste is impressive concentration in the sleek, bright fruit of raspberry, currant and (balsamicodressed) strawberries, and the acid is strong, intense and well balanced against the characterful fruit. Super finish with charcoal / chalk minerality and smooth tannins grip firmly and seriously. Strong apple peel, Philipa-apple and currants in the seconds after tannins have escaped - is towards strawberry porridge with oatmeal, which together with the acid just continues and continues.
There really care druetypicitet and terroir of the wine here. Botti records, in traditional style with solid grip, subtle strength and fantastic complex balance.
Seems more mature than last , especially tannins are more integrated. It may well have a semblance of one-dimensional laxity at Open which can be confused with that is going down. But it is not - give it time to unfold in its mature, elegant grandeur - at our table was the clear second best day Is not as exceptional as Nonna Concetta from the same manufacturer, but not so much from - and just keeps his level from last year:
