Podere Capaccia have wine on 3 acres in Radda in Chianti. Produced Chianti Classico, Chianti Classico Riserva, supertoskaneren Querciagrande and the sweet Spera di Sole. Chianti Classico is from the south-facing plots with 95% Sangiovese and 5% Canaiolo and stores 6 months in steel and 10 Slovenian Botti.
Beautiful and intense, almost postkasserød color. Wonderful aroma of sour cherries, earth, leather, licorice powder and synthetic candy sweetness together with more subtle elements of tobacco, raw meat and Botti rubber.
The taste is round, fresh and really well balanced with soft, sour cherry, slim blueberry sweetness and light bitterness between rich style. Fruit acid is vibrant and the finish is dry with licorice and leather pull that gradually begins. Tannins are fully ripe and is only present as a mild chalk sensation on the tongue. Sammensnørringen the finish is not the most intense, but it fits nicely with the overall impression of a ripe and rounded wine.
The bright cherries grow well in the aftertaste, accompanied by dry twigs, smoke and leather - and an upright acid. In every way a pleasant wine: characterful, vibrant and classic - soft, ripe and round without ever being boring, and with plenty of juicy freshness intact. A great example of traditional sangiovese (when it is well-made) even in the more basic versions are fine with a few years in bottle.
I find it hard to imagine a more classic Chianti and the smoke right into my reference as No. 1 for the traditional Chianti Classico. There are bigger and 'better' wines in the appellation, but this wine brings so much joy elementary drink that you can not help but be seduced.
